August 20, 2013 Groves Public Hearing

 HARRISON TOWNSHIP GROVES PUBLIC HEARING

August 20, 2013

CALL TO ORDER:

Chairman Keith Peters called the Groves Public Hearing of August 20, 2013 to order at 6:30pm at the Township Hall, 2746 Weigand Road, Lockbourne, Ohio.  Attending were Trustee Paul Welsh, Trustee Doug Clark, Fiscal Officer MaryAnn Elliott, and Zoning Inspector Joe DeFelice.  Also present were Milinda Groves and Steve Alber.

The Trustees read the legal notice to rezone the property located at 9480 Picway Road, Lockbourne, OH 43137, owned by Milinda Groves, from the current Cash Grain or General Farm to General Business.

The recommendation from the Zoning Commission meeting from July 8, 2013 was to approve the application to rezone this property as a Planned Business District with a maximum of fifteen (15) trucks.

The recommendation from the Pickaway County Planning Commission is as follows:

“It is the recommendation of the Pickaway County Planning Commission to deny approval of this application to rezone to the General Business District.  The Pickaway County Planning Commission feels that the rezoning of this tract to General Business may permit future incompatible land-uses based on the permitted uses under your current zoning code.  The Planning Commission recommends that if an amendment is granted, that the township’s Planned Business District be utilized in this case to better manage the development of this tract.”

Milinda Groves explained that they have outgrown their business in Groveport.  They plan to live in the house and run the business from this property.  They have thirteen trucks but do not plan to have more than fifteen trucks.
