Harrison Township Zoning Commission

Meeting Minutes

October 12, 2015

The October meeting of the Harrison Township Zoning Commission was called to order by Chairman, Kelly Spriggs at 8:00PM. Present were: Kelly Spriggs, Doug Czako, Ronde Cook-Brushart, Trevor Younkin, Matt Rayburn, Debi Hulse and Joe DeFelice.

Debi read the minutes from and July 13 & September 28th meetings. Ronde moved to accept each minutes and Doug 2nd the motion. The minutes of each meeting were approved.

Old Business: There has been no news on the Renick Building of US 23. The Martin property has no one living in the garage space.

New Business: Joe DeFelice will become a Harrison Township trustee on October 20, 2015. He will no longer be the Zoning Inspector. The position is open at this time. New Zoning Commission Member, Matt Rayburn, was introduced.

Trevor questioned if Schumacher’s had a permit to add a 3rd house on their site. The answer was yes. It was in their plan.

There is a sign on Duvall Road, east of SR762. Joe will check on it.

Trevor spotted an abandoned house in the woods North of Duvall Road. It is also North of Dennis Road. There is a tree growing in the middle of the house. There is debris from trespassers. The property is/was owned by Carl McClurg. Joe will contact the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

The Railroad tracks in Duvall continue to be a problem. The trains still blow their whistles when approaching Duvall. The track crossing has been removed and the road has been made into a Cul de Sac. The gates can be opened and this allows for the train whistles to continue. Joe will call the Prosecutor’s Office to see what needs to happen to move to a permanent barricade to remedy this situation.

Ronde moved to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Doug. The meeting adjourned at 8:45pm.
