HARRISON TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES MEETING

October 15, 2013

REGULAR MEETING CALL TO ORDER:

Chairman Keith Peters called the Regular Trustee Meeting of October 15, 2013 to order at 7:00pm at the Township Hall, 2746 Weigand Road, Lockbourne, Ohio.  Attending were Trustee Doug Clark, Fiscal Officer MaryAnn Elliott, Fire Chief Eric Edgington and Zoning Inspector Joe DeFelice.  Also in attendance were residents Lynn Goodfleisch, Todd Younkin, Barbara Younkin and Larry Valentine; Attorney Alan Sedlak and Eric DeHays from Local Waste Management.  Trustee Paul Welsh and Road/Cemetery Superintendent Kevin Hulse were absent.

HEARING OF VISITORS:

  1. Lynn Goodfleisch read a letter stating the problems she and her neighbors have had recently with Local Waste Services.  Eric DeHays from Local Waste Management apologized for the lack of customer service that Lynn had received.  He passed out his business card with his contact information and asked to be called with any problems.  He also stated he would investigate the customer service that Lynn received and would ask about her request for a reimbursement of one week’s service and late fees.
  2. Attorney Alan Sedlak and Barb Younkin were present to discuss the zoning violation she had received.  Joe stated that once the zoning violation is issued, they have twenty days to file an appeal with the zoning appeals board.  The Trustees explained that they are not able to address this issue; it must go to the zoning appeals board for their decision.

ZONING INSPECTOR: 

  1. The Danny Bailey property still has not been cleaned up and it has been thirty days since the second notice.  The Trustees agreed to send the violation to the Prosecutor’s office.

RESOLUTION 13-90

A RESOLUTION TO HAVE THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE PROCEED WITH THE ZONING VIOLATION AGAINST DANNY K AND TERESA L BAILEY, 10925 LOCKBOURNE EASTERN ROAD, ASHVILLE, OH 43103.  Mr. Clark moved and Mr. Peters seconded and the Trustees voted with two yes votes to approve R13-90

ROAD/CEMETERY SUPERINTENDENT:  None

FIRE CHIEF’S REPORT: 

The Chief presented his report.  There were no items requiring action by the Trustees.

OTHER BUSINESS:

  1. The next meeting will be November 5 which is election day and the township building will be used for voting.  The Trustees decided to hold that meeting at the fire station.  The clerk will post signs and notify the Herald.

FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT:

RESOLUTION 13-91

A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND PAY THE ATTACHED LIST OF BILLS AS THE LAWFUL OBLIGATIONS OF HARRISON TOWNSHIP.  Mr. Clark moved and Mr. Peters seconded and the Trustees voted with two yes votes to approve R13-91.

ADJOURNMENT:

With no further comments and all scheduled matters attended to, Mr. Clark moved and Mr. Peters seconded the motion to adjourn the October 15, 2013 Board of Trustee Meeting.  All were in favor and the meeting was adjourned at 7:50pm.
