The Harrison Township Zoning Commission held their regularly scheduled quarterly meeting on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 6:00pm at the Harrison Township Building, 2746 Weigand Road, Lockbourne, Ohio 43137.

The meeting was called to order by Ronde Cook-Brushart at 6:00pm.  Ronde filled the position of Chairman in Kelly Spriggs absence.  Present were:  Ronde Cook-Brushart, Matt Rayburn, Lisa Darnell, Ryan Thompson and Debi Hulse.  Absent were Kelly Spriggs and Dale Hoover, Zoning Inspector.

All members received minutes of the July 9, 2018 meeting and the September 24, 2018 hearing before the meeting.  The minutes were emailed to each member for reading before the meeting.  Matt Rayburn moved to accept the minutes.  Ryan Thompson 2nd the motion.  All voted to accept the minutes as written. 

Old Business:

Lisa Darnell stated that Dale Hoover, Zoning Inspector, was going to check with Preston Vance regarding plantings around his business.  This will be postponed to the January meeting.

New Business:

Ronde Cook-Brushart stated that she wanted to clarify that the Rickenbacker Business District is not the same as the JEDD.  The JEDD has their own Zoning Board with 1 representative from Harrison Township.  Businesses need to apply to be admitted to the JEDD.  Ronde Cook-Brushart also questioned if businesses should be asking for rezoning into the Rickenbacker Business District instead of General Business.  This would be businesses that wanted admission into the JEDD.   Ronde Cook-Brushart encouraged everyone to read the Strategic Land Use Plan regarding this topic.  It will be discussed again.

Matt Rayburn asked about the Township Website.  It was explained that all minutes and important information was posted on the website by Mary AnnElliott, Fiscal Officer. Township residents can access this website.   He asked if there could be a sign-up for Township residents to get alerts about Township matters.  He also inquired about the possibility of a Township Facebook page to keep residents informed about meetings, hearings and new developments.  He stated that he thought that would keep residents informed.

The next regularly scheduled quarterly meeting will be January 14, 2019 at 6:00pm.

Matt Rayburn moved to adjourn.  Lisa 2nd the motion.  Meeting was adjourned.
