Fire Prevention

Mission

The Harrison Township Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau is charged with protection life and property from fire through public education, safety planning, construction plans review, code enforcement and fire investigations.

Fire Safety Inspections

All structures within the fire department’s coverage area are subject to code enforcement unless exempt by the Ohio Fire Code.

Click here for information about fire safety inspections about existing structures subject to code enforcement.

Residential structures

The Fire Department does not have jurisdiction over single family homes when it comes to fire inspections. However, you may request a fire safety inspection of your home at any time by calling the station. A Fire Code Official will inspect your home and make recommendations for fire safety and planning, free of charge.

Foster Care and Adoption Safety Inspections

Fire and safety inspections are required by Ohio Jobs and Family Services for those who wish to foster children. We offer this service to the community free of charge. Call the station to set up an appointment with a Fire Code Official.
